Marlene Dietrich

In a classic, 1963 moving performance, the legend is singing 1956 Pete Seeger’s anti-war song, which was inspired to him by reading Mikhail Sholokhov’s novel, And Quiet Flows the Don. In another video, also on you tube, Marlene is singing it in London, 1972. She first sang this song in Paris (”Qui peut dire vont les fleurs?”), presumably for a UNICEF concert in 1962. Her recording for French Pathé is dated May 1962.
